140-Ton Shiploader Among Items Transported from Hamriyah Port
German breakbulk specialist COLI Shipping and Transport has delivered a 140-ton shiploader and related project cargo from Hamriyah in the United Arab Emirates to the Port of Rotterdam.
The project, managed by COLI’s Istanbul team, began with engineering works in Hamriyah – located in the Hamriyah Free Zone in western Sharjah emirate – to ensure all hydraulics and steerings were in good order, followed by a check on measurements.
The equipment including the 15.5-meter-long shiploader was then moved from a laydown area at Hamriyah, loaded onto trailers and transported to a waiting vessel.
Once in Rotterdam, the cargo was transshipped to a barge and delivered to a nearby terminal.
The entire operation from loading the cargo in the UAE to its arrival in Rotterdam took 27 days, with all units "successfully delivered in sound condition", the company said.
Breakbulk Middle East will be returning to Dubai in 2024.
