Storage Facility Equipped with Powerful Overhead Gantry Crane
UK-based heavy transport specialist Collett & Sons has launched a new heavy-lift storage facility at the company’s Elland Depot Complex in northern England.
The new internal area adds 750 square meters of secure storage space to the depot’s existing 3,800-square-meter capacity and comes equipped with a new 25-tonne capacity overhead gantry crane and a height clearance of seven meters.
The strategically located facility, which Collett said meets all environmental and sustainability requirements, also features six-meter-high drive-in roller shutter doors that ensure ease of entry and exit for out-of-gauge cargo.
All facilities at the Elland Depot are available to rent on a square-meterage basis, or as build-up or testing areas including crane usage and power, the haulage firm said.
“This significant investment and expansion highlights our dedication to providing a comprehensive and bespoke service for our client base,” said sales director Michael Harland.
Harland and Collett’s managing director David Collett celebrated the launch of the new warehouse with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was also attended by Bradford City football manager and ex-Manchester United star, Mark Hughes.
Based in Halifax in northern England, Collett operates a fleet of heavy-lift trucks, trailers and SPMTs and provides project logistics throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide. The company’s six facilities for warehousing and storage in northern England can accommodate cargo from heavy-lift abnormal loads to standard pallets.
Collet & Sons is an exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe, the world’s largest gathering of project logistics professionals. To find out more about exhibiting at next year’s event on 21-23 May at Rotterdam Ahoy, click here.
