(Europe) Transport via Super Wing Carriers
Haulier Collett & Sons has delivered a set of outsized components for the Burnfoot Hill East Wind Farm Extension in the UK.
The project involved transport of three Vestas V112 wind turbines, each comprised of 55-meter-long blades and a 69-meter-high tower. Cargo was transported 60 miles from the Port of Grangemouth to Tillicoultry.
“To overcome the component's complex variety of dimensions, we employed the use of our diverse fleet of specialist equipment. This included our Super Wing Carriers, tower clamp trailers (specifically designed for the transport of wind turbine towers) and our five & six axle extendable semi-trailers,” a spokesperson for Collett said.
Based in Halifax, England, Collett & Sons operates a fleet of heavy-lift trucks, trailers and SPMTs and provides breakbulk logistics throughout the UK and Europe. The firm is an exhibitor at Breakbulk events.
