Coronavirus Threatens China’s Global Hub Role

(Asia) Covid-19 Long-term Impacts on Supply Chains Uncertain

The far-reaching impacts of the coronavirus on global supply chains is causing firms to examine China’s role as a global shipment hub, potentially reshaping global trade routes.

While markets have recovered somewhat on Monday, a massive routing of global stocks last week has caused many experts to question China’s continuing role as the world’s manufacturing nexus.

With China having dominated global manufacturing for decades any significant changes are likely to have major impacts for breakbulk operators globally.
