Cromarty Receives Infrastructure Cargoes

Millions of Tonnes of Infrastructure for 5 Projects

Authorites at the Port of Cromarty Firth have taken delivery of millions of tonnes of infrastructure for five construction projects, worth a total of £41 million.

The consignment included giant concrete caissons for use in the £400 million Aberdeen Harbor expansion project, construction materials for a new energy and cruise Hub, a new housing development at Dalcross, and piles for the port’s own quayside expansion.

“These are exciting times for the Port and the Highlands. The storage of such massive pieces of infrastructure shows the faith that neighbouring developments have in the Port to house and deliver these huge structures safely,” said Bob Buskie, CEO of the Port of Cromarty Firth.

Located in the north of Scotland, the port is in the midst of a record £31 million project to develop a new breakbulk quayside and construction hub for handling of offshore wind farm components.
