New Engineering Center in Helsinki
Shipbuilding firm Damen has expanded its presence in Finland with the opening of a new engineering center.
The new facility will build on the group’s entry into large vessel RoPax, cruise and offshore markets last year. The center will be based in a central location in Helsinki.
“We are now focused on building the team and we already have two projects to start with: a cruise vessel and a ro-ro vessel. Members of Damen’s Helsinki team will have the opportunity to add real value to these and other projects in the future,” said Frank Rebel, Damen representative.
Damen Shipyards Group operates 32 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. The firm is headquartered in Nijkerk, in the Netherlands, and employs about 9,000 people globally to deliver about 180 vessels annually.
