Dutch shipbuilder Damen is to deliver two fast crew supply vessels from the Netherlands to Taiwan.
The shipyard will construct two FCS 2710 offshore vessels and transport to Taiwanese dredging and nearshore specialist Hung Hua Construction. The vessels will be used in the country’s offshore wind sector, with delivery slated for 2020.
“We have been following the developments in the Taiwanese offshore wind sector for some time and it now looks very promising with many projects starting in 2019 and 2020,” said Michiel Hendrikx, sales manager Asia-Pacific for Damen Shipyards Group.
Damen Shipyards Group operates 32 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. The firm is headquartered in Nijkerk, the Netherlands, and employs about 9,000 people globally to deliver about 180 vessels annually.
