ASD 2813 to Veracruz
Dutch shipbuilder Damen is to build and deliver an ASD Tug 2813 from Vietnam to Mexcio on behalf of towage specialist SAAM.
The 28-meter-long vessel will be fabricated at the Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam and transported to Mexico for operations in the port of Veracruz. The modular tug will feature a maximum bollard pull of 85 tonnes include a FiFi1 unit, providing firefighting capability to the vessel.
“We’re very happy to supply SAAM Towage again as a continuation of our productive relationship. The ASD Tug 2813 is highly manoeuvrable, while also being powerful and offering a high level of crew comfort, so it will certainly be an asset to the fleet,” said Ezequiel Najmias, Damen representative.
Damen Shipyards Group operates 32 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. The firm is headquartered in Nijkerk, in the Netherlands, and employs about 9,000 people globally to deliver around 180 vessels annually.
