DP World Boosts Lifting Capacity at Port Saint John

Two 65-Meter Cranes Expected To Begin Operations at Canadian Terminal in Early 2025

DP World has boosted lifting capacity at its multipurpose terminal at Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada, after taking delivery of two of the largest cranes ever deployed at the port.

The 65-meter-tall quay cranes arrived from the Port of Virginia in the U.S. and are expected to be operational in early 2025. With the new additions the facility now hosts six quay cranes – its highest ever capacity.

“Their extended reach and capacity will enable DP World to handle larger vessels, bolstering the port’s container throughput and efficiency,” the global port operator said.

DP World has operated the terminal at Port Saint John since 2017. The facility has since emerged as a key player in North America’s breakbulk supply chain thanks to a series of investments to beef up infrastructure.
