Drewes Logistics Expands Global Footprint

New Offices in US, Austria to Capitalize on “Robust” Project Market

Bremen-based project cargo mover Drewes Logistics has expanded its global footprint after launching new offices in Austria and the US.

Located in the city of Dornbirn in the westernmost state of Vorarlberg, the Austrian office will be headed by Fabio Buzzi, brought in from Ems Chartering where he served as senior commercial manager for Austria and Switzerland.

Drewes’ long-standing clients in Austria include several large international mechanical and plant engineering companies.

“We have maintained close economic relations with Austria for more than 70 years and also represent the interests of the residents of the Alpine state with our consulate in Bremen,” said Patrick Drewes, the group’s managing director. “Now we are also represented entrepreneurially with a branch office in Austria to get even closer to our customers.”

The new US branch is in Savannah in the southeastern state of Georgia, and will be headed by Lisa Beerens, who formerly worked in the company’s business development and projects department in Bremen.

At Savannah, home to one of the largest container ports in the US, Drewes will focus on project cargo, breakbulk and container handling.

“This region has been very interesting for us for a long time because of its high volume of cargo for mechanical and plant engineering. This applies both inbound and outbound,” said the director. “The market for project logistics is very robust and attractive for us, which is why we are investing in our market presence. We are already planning the next two overseas locations, which will bring our network to 11 branches.”
