FLS Moves Sharjah Compressor unit

Dubai-based project forwarder Fleet Line Shipping has delivered a gas compressor unit from Sharjah to Bahrain.

The out-sized unit weighed 36 tonnes and measured 15 meters long, 4 meters wide and 5 meters high. Prior to transport the cargo was shrink-wrapped at the warehouse in Jebel Ali.

“The lashing team made sure to place the unit according the COG and secured with enough wooden dunnage at the same time made sure to free the lifting points of flat rack,” said Peter Mathew, managing director of FLS.

FLS said a condition of the move was to not apply lifting gear directly to the unit. The flat rack was tandem lifted and placed on the low-bed trailer for onward transportation to Jebel Ali port, the unit was then loaded on the container vessel Jumeirah.
