Freightplus Delivers Adelaide Barge
Logistics group Freightplus has shipped a 57-meter flat barge from Singapore to Adelaide, Australia.
Operating to a tight timeline, a team from Freightplus coordinated biosecurity treatment and inspections on the barge to arrange delivery within one week. Preparation involved removing tonnes of marine foul from the 57-meter-long hull, using scrapers and pressure washers.
“Freightplus was asked to arrange divers to rig the barge for lifting on board the HHL Richards Bay, coordinate customs clearances in Singapore and act as the buyer’s representative to sign off the barge purchase,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
From offices in Brisbane, Freightplus operates breakbulk logistics services throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The firm is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which connect prequalified project forwarding specialists worldwide.
