Authorities at the Gateway Terminal in Connecticut have received approval for an expanded Foreign Trade Zone subzone at the port.
The Foreign-Trade Zones Board of the U.S. Department of Commerce approved the plans for three new warehouses, a covered storage structure, and seven aboveground liquid storage tanks on a site covering about 57 acres.
“An expanded FTZ status allows Gateway to provide its customers with financial savings and increased operational capacity. We are thrilled to offer this strategic advantage and economic benefit to our customers, the City of New Haven, and the State of Connecticut,” said James Dillman, president of Gateway Terminal.
Located in New Haven, Gateway is one of the largest port terminal operators in the State of Connecticut, operating at the deepwater Port of New Haven and as well as the State Pier in New London, Connecticut.
