Gebrüder Weiss is establishing a new country organization in Bangkok, Thailand, further expanding its footprint in Southeast Asia as part of a broader regional growth strategy.

The transport and logistics specialist said the launch – scheduled for June 1 – strengthens its network in one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions and creates direct links to key Asia-Pacific markets.

“Thailand is an important export location with strong trade links to the U.S., China, Japan, Australia and Singapore – markets where we are also represented with locations of our own,” said Lothar Thoma, managing director, Air & Sea, at Gebrüder Weiss.

According to the company, Thailand’s exports in 2024 totaled some US$300 billion, up 5% from the previous year. Industrial goods represented 86% of total exports, led by electronics, vehicles, machinery and food.

The new office will employ a 20-person team providing international air and sea freight services, customs handling and domestic and cross-border land transport.

“Our employees have many years of experience in international transport management. In the medium term, we are aiming to expand our services in Thailand to include warehouse logistics, with a particular focus on the automotive and high-tech sectors,” said Christian Predan, director South-East Asia at Gebrüder Weiss.

The expansion brings Gebrüder Weiss’s presence in the East and South-East Asia region and Oceania to nine countries, including Australia, Greater China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

Its regional network now includes 35 locations and around 800 employees.
