Expands footprint in Germany with opening of new warehouse
Logistics firm Geodis has expanded its footprint in Germany with the opening of a new warehouse in Oberhausen.
The 40,000-square-meter facility will employ up to 500 staff. The development follows a 10 percent increase in sales to €63 billion in 2018.
“The demand for modern and innovative logistics concepts in this area is high, because the goods are to be delivered to the end customer as quickly, cost-effectively and efficiently as possible,” Thomas Kraus, CEO at Geodis explained.
A subsidiary of SNCF Logistics, Geodis provides a range of supply chain services through five divisions: supply chain optimization, freight forwarding, contract logistics, distribution and express, and road transport.
