Record 210 Delegates from 70 Countries Attend Gathering in Rotterdam
The Global Project Logistics Network’s 18th annual general meeting has been hailed a major success after a record 210 delegates from more than 70 countries came together for the 3-day conference in Rotterdam.
This year’s meeting, held at the Hilton Rotterdam on 3-5 June on the eve of Breakbulk Europe 2023, included presentations, one-on-one business meetings and a cocktail reception to welcome delegates.
The GPLN, founded in 2004, brings together independent companies from all around the world specializing in international project movements.
“This year we reached the highest number of attendees in GPLN history with over 210 delegates from over 70 different countries, which shows not only the great commitment of our GPLN members but is also the best achievement among all project networks in this industry,” said Luzius Haffter, the group’s executive director.
“In 2018 we reached for the first time over 200 delegates during our AGM in Bremen, also due to the winning combination of our conference with Breakbulk Europe!”
Among the GPLN’s member companies is Netherlands-based Tiel Logistics, winner of the network’s annual photo competition. The photo (shown above) depicts the demobilization of offshore equipment for the 257-MW Arcadis Ost 1 Offshore Wind Project in the North Sea.
Some 17 out-of-gauge components were handled by the Dutch firm, including two pieces weighing 460 and 440 tonnes a piece.
The GPLN will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Americas 2023, taking place on 26-28 September at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in Houston, Texas.
