GSS Delivers Critical Houston Cargo

Complex ‘Double Banking’ with Sleipnir

Freight forwarder Global Shipping Services has delivered 25 pieces of critical offshore subsea equipment from Florida to Gibraltar.

The breakbulk assignment involved loading aboard the chartered vessel BigLift Happy Dover at Savannah port and shipment to Gibraltar. Upon arrival, it was transshipped to the Sleipnir, which was preparing to sail to Brazil for offshore operations.

“Our main challenge was the delivery deadlines, as we had to meet up with “the world’s largest offshore crane vessel” owned and operated by Heerema and arrange “double banking” operation from one ship to another at sea,” a spokesperson for GSS said.

Based in Miami, GSS is a member of the WCA network, which connects more than 4,588 member offices in 188 countries.
