Freight forwarder Global Shipping Services has delivered a time-critical cargo of oil rig components from the U.S. to Launda, Angola.
The breakbulk shipment was arranged at short notice in response to an “oil rig down” situation and was loaded aboard a 747F aircraft in Houston, Texas. The team worked with the crating company to build a customized skid capable of handling the cargo.
“The Global Shipping team worked closely with the air charterers, shipper, and packing company over a three-week period to reduce the cargo height so we could load into a 747F nose-loading aircraft,” a spokesperson for GSS said.
Based in Miami, GSS is a member of the WCA network, which connects more than 4,588 member offices in 188 countries.
