76-Ton Units Are Being Delivered Over a 600-Km Route to Iskenderun Port
Hareket has been charged with transporting seven nitrogen tanks over a 600-kilometer route from Kayseri in central Türkiye to Iskenderun Port on the country’s Mediterranean coast.
The heavy-lift specialist has already delivered three of the 76-ton tanks and is now readying to deliver the remaining four. The components, which measure nearly 37 meters long and five meters wide, were delivered along "narrow and winding" roads using specialized configurations including one 8-axle and two 10-axle extendable trailers.
“For such heavy and oversized loads, road conditions are crucial. Continuous route checks are necessary to ensure the safe transport of these tanks,” Ali Yılmaz, operations director at Hareket, told Breakbulk.
Headquartered in Istanbul, Hareket provides logistics services in the Middle East, Africa and Europe and is especially active in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tanzania, Senegal, Poland and Ukraine.
The company recently acquired a 2,200-ton capacity crawler crane, billed as one of the world's largest. The crane, unveiled in Dubai, gives Hareket the opportunity to support the buildout of oil and gas, petrochemical and nuclear energy projects worldwide and get ahead of its competitors regionally and globally, it said.
A second 2,200-ton capacity crane is part of the company's future investment plans, it added.
Hareket is an exhibitor at Breakbulk Middle East and Breakbulk Europe.
