Semi-submersible Deck Barge
Freight forwarder Intercontinental Shipping has delivered a jack-up barge rig from Texas to Trinidad.
The over-dimensional item was loaded to semi-submersible deck barge and transported from Houston. The rig weighed a total of 4,572 tonnes and was cold stacked alongside the quay.
“Intercontinental's responsibilities included agency processing with authorities for tug and semi-submersible to enter and discharge equipment, logistical support for float off operations, berthing and demobilizing for further works in the territory,” a spokesperson for the firm said.
Based in Trinidad and Tobago, Intercontinental operates three offices across the islands and is a member of the Project Logistics Alliance, which represents around 200 pre-qualified project forwarders in 114 countries.
