Jumbo Offshore has completed a mooring line pre-installation project for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Errea Wittu off the coast of oil-rich Guyana in South America.
The operation was carried out for Exxon Mobil Guyana on behalf of offshore floating platform supplier and operator, Modec, using one of Jumbo’s J-class heavy-lift installation vessels, the Fairplayer.
The scope of the work at the Uaru Field — part of the prolific 6.6 million-acre offshore Stabroek Block — included the installation of suction anchors and pre-lay of mooring lines in preparation for FPSO hook-up.
“The team demonstrated full focus on engineering, procurement, documentation and meticulous planning in sometimes challenging circumstances,” said Frank Muurling, project manager at Jumbo Offshore. “The yard and offshore teams’ resilience and teamwork led to a safe and successful completion of the mooring line installation campaign.”
According to Jumbo Offshore, once operational the Errea Wittu is expected to produce 250,000 barrels of oil per day and will have a gas treatment capacity of 540 million cubic feet per day. It will have a water injection capacity of 350,000 bpd, a produced water capacity of 300,000 bpd and a storage capacity of two million barrels of crude oil.
