LTHE Wins Paradip Contract

Project cargo specialist L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is to deliver and install parts for the IOCL Paradip Refinery in Odisha, India.

The wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro was awarded the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract by Indian Oil Corp. for the setup of a mono ethylene glycol plant and ethylene recovery unit (under LSTK-1 Package, along with offsite and utilities under LSTK-2 Package.

“Bagging these two orders from IOCL reinforces our integrated capabilities in executing critical plants for petrochemical and refinery segments,” said Subramanian Sarma, CEO of LTHE.

Consortium to Develop Berri Field

The contract award follows another recent EPC win for LTHE to develop three oil production deck manifolds and subsea pipelines in Zuluf and Berri Fields of Saudi Aramco.

The engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract was awarded to a consortium led by LTHE and Luxembourgish services firm Subsea 7 and is the fifth award for the consortium.

“Over the past three decades, LTHE has served the offshore oil and gas industry with consistent delivery through excellent execution performance on the ongoing projects, LTHE has established a strong track record in the Middle East,” a spokesperson said.

Fabrication at Hazira

The offshore oilfield expansion of Saudi’s Berri field is estimated to add crude production of 250,000 barrels per day and is expected to drive major breakbulk activity in the lead up to project completion.

LTHE will deliver "design to build" engineering and construction solutions for the project with construction taking place at its flagship facility at Hazira in Gujarat, India. Services will be delivered via the firms offshore, onshore, construction services, modular fabrication and engineering services verticals.

Development will be coordinated with work awarded to China Harbour Engineering Arabia last year for the construction of two drilling islands near shore at the north and south sides of the King Fahad Industrial Port causeway in Jubail as part of the Berri Increment Program.
