Heavy-lift specialist Mammoet has acquired UK-based breakbulk specialist ALE.
The deal creates a combined heavy-lift and transport company with about 6,800 employees and some of the largest capacity cranes in the business. Completion of the deal remains subject to approval of relevant competition authorities.

Dutch firm Mammoet is headquartered in Schiedam and is one of the oldest heavy-lift firms in the world, delivering a range of project cargo transportation, logistics planning and crane rental services. Until the deal is approved ALE will continue to operate as a wholly independent company from its headquarters in Staffordshire in the UK and via its network of more than 30 regional offices around the world.
