(Europe) Delivery to New Borealis PDH Plant
Cargo specialist Mammoet has delivered a C3 splitter column for a propane dehydrogenation site in Kallo, Belgium.
The outsized unit weighed 1,400 tonnes and measured more than 100 meters long. It was delivered on behalf of Borealis and Tecnimont, the plant’s engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) partners.
“To minimize disruption to both the project’s schedule and the port, transportation of the splitter occurred overnight, after Mammoet had arranged short-term road closures with local authorities. Eighty-four axle lines of SPMT were mobilized to transport the splitter across the 1,500-meter stretch from the Port of Antwerp to the Borealis production site in Kallo,” a spokesperson for Mammoet said.
Headquartered in Schiedam in the Netherlands, Mammoet provides a range of services from transportation and logistics planning to heavy lift and crane rental.
