Largest Piece Weighed More Than 440 Tonnes
Spain-headquartered Noatum Project Cargo has handled the delivery of reactors for a new alkylate production plant in Pasadena, Texas.
The units, made by Spanish steel constructor Schwartz Hautmont Construcciones Metalicas, comprised seven columns, the largest weighing more than 440 tonnes and measuring 60.5 metres in length.
The reactors arrived from Spain on a heavy load carrier, transferred onto river barge using floating cranes and delivered to the downstream facility on self-propelled modular trailers, or SPMTs.
“As a part of our integral services, our team handled planning, coordination and performance of this outstanding operation, all very important towards the safe delivery of such cargo,” the transport specialist said.
Noatum Project Cargo, formerly Actanis Project Cargo, is the heavy-lift transport unit of Noatum Logistics.
The unit handles oversized and heavy equipment in sectors including oil and gas, energy, port equipment, offshore and marine operations, railways, renewable energy and mining.
