CNCEC, CPECC Sign Collaborative Agreements
Oilfield developer National Petroleum Construction Co. has signed development agreements with two Chinese engineering groups to explore “joint collaborative opportunities” in the onshore and offshore oil and gas sectors.
The memoranda of understanding were signed with China National Engineering Co. and China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corp., affiliated to China National Petroleum Corp.
“The two agreements will further drive the global ambition of NPCC to become one of the largest providers of EPC solutions for the energy sector. We have proven competencies in undertaking complex fabrication and manufacturing for onshore and offshore projects, which will add value to any potential partnership with CPECC and CNCEC. It will also enable us to expand our footprint in China, one of the largest growth markets for the energy sector,” said Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli, chairman of NPCC.
Expand China Energy Footprint
The two companies will explore potential opportunities and exchange information, data and insights with the aim of leveraging the strengths of all entities.
"Both CPECC and CNCEC are market leaders, with specialised skills in EPC and lump-sum contracting, including strong international experience. All the entities can benefit from the partnership, which will potentially help expand our business footprint and showcase our strengths to Chinese energy sector stakeholders,” said Ahmed Al Dhaheri, an engineer at NPCC.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the NPCC is a joint venture between industrial investment holding company Senaat and Consolidated Contractors International Co. The group employs more than 8,000 staff and is a major EPC contractor, with focus on services in the Arabian Gulf and India.
New Financing Services
NPCC will also explore potential projects for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) with CNEC including new financing services on ADNOC projects in the MENA region.

Directly administrated by the State Council of China, CNCEC provides comprehensive engineering services including EPC, PMC, BLT, BOT, BOOT to clients in chemical, petrochemical, oil &gas, power generation, road and infrastructure construction sectors.
