Deal Promises to Create a “Powerful Industry Entity” – Omega Morgan
Omega Morgan has acquired Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Rigging & Heavy Haul in a deal that the Oregon-headquartered heavy-lift transport specialist said would create a “powerful industry entity” in the US.
IRH is an asset-based transport and rigging company specializing in the movement of heavy and over-dimensional cargo for the oil and gas, power generation and mining industries. The company, which also has an office in Houston, Texas, has twice won the Hauling Job of the Year Award from the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, or SC&RA.
Omega Morgan said the acquisition would bring additional resources, equipment and capabilities, particularly in the electronics manufacturing sector in the Intermountain region, a broad expanse in the US that lies between the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada.
“We are thrilled to welcome the IRH personnel into the Omega Morgan family. This will not only expand our geographic reach, but also combines two of the industry’s most experienced and skilled teams,” said Dick Ferchak, CEO of Omega Morgan.
“We aim to build upon IRH’s strong brand and reputation while offering our shared customers a broader range of services and capabilities. IRH’s focus on customer service mirrors our own ethos at Omega Morgan, and we are excited to have their team join us. Together, we are well-positioned to deliver even greater value to our customers.”
Steve Knight, IRH’s founder and CEO, will remain with Omega Morgan.
Omega Morgan, with offices in Oregon, Washington, Texas, Idaho, Alberta and California, specializes in machinery moving, heavy rigging and transport, millwright and industrial services, industrial storage and warehousing and applied metrology.
Its professional-grade crane fleet includes all-terrain cranes, lattice boom crawler cranes, ringer cranes and rough terrain cranes, with capacities ranging from 12 to 3,200 tons.
Omega Morgan and Intermountain Rigging & Heavy Haul will be exhibiting at Breakbulk Americas 2023, taking place on 26-28 September at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
