Shipment via Beira, Mozambique
Breakbulk carrier Origin Logistics has delivered a shipment of parts for a hydroelectric power plant from Turkey to Malawi.
The oversized cargo was loaded at Evyap, Turkey, and shipped via Beira, Mozambique. In 15 flat-rack units and one open-top unit.
"The hardest part of the accomplished operation was the loading of six pieces of huge pipe to flat-racks each measuring 120 meters ... After the entire operation was successfully completed, the carrier commented that the cargo was recorded as the biggest dimensions ever handled in that port,” said Metin Elmas, Mersin operation manager at Origin Logistics.
Registered in Turkey, Origin Logistics is a member of the Project Cargo network, which connects breakbulk carriers in more than 100 countries.
