Transport of Helicopters Between UK and Australia
Logistics firm Panalpina and heavy-lift carrier Volga-Dnepr Airlines have partnered to transfer two helicopters between Scotalnd and Australia.
The complex project involved delivery of two AugustaWestland AW139 helicopters from the UK to Melbourne, Australia, and the reverse transfer of two Sikorsky S-92 from Darwin, Australia, to Aberdeen in Scotland.
“We were delighted to be able to support Panalpina and Babcock in their mission and to achieve all their objectives,” said Rinat Akhmetov, Commercial Executive at Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
Based in Ulyanovsk in eastern Russia, Volga-Dnepr Airlines specializes in air charter services via a fleet of Antonov An-124 and IL-76TD-90VD (Stage IV) cargo aircraft. Swiss company Panalpina provides forwarding and logistics services, specialised in intercontinental air and ocean freight and associated supply chain management.
