(Americas-Asia) 67-meter Blades Longest Handled
Breakbulk hub Port of Vancouver USA has received a shipment of wind turbine blades, the longest handled at the port to date.
The delivery comprised 27 blades shipped from China for Goldwind’s GW136 turbines. The units each measured 67 meters in length.
“During the Covid-19 pandemic, the port continues to operate to keep the supply chain and commodities moving. The port has proven our unique ability to handle these types of large projects. Customers know our heavy-lift mobile cranes, acres of laydown space, highly-skilled workforce, and dedication to renewable energy make the Port of Vancouver the perfect port for receiving wind energy components,” said Julianna Marler, CEO of the port.
The Port of Vancouver USA handles breakbulk cargo via two terminals and serves as the Pacific Northwest’s major consolidation center for breakbulk. It offers access to road and rail networks connections, providing established corridors for overweight and overdimensional project cargoes.
