SAL Moves Genovese Yachts
Shipping line SAL Heavy Lift has transported a cargo of yachts and boats from Italy to the Middle East.
The project involved loading seven yachts, a tender boat and a pontoon aboard the heavy-lift vessel Frauke in the port of Genoa. The heaviest item of cargo was a yacht weighing 240 tonnes.
“The yacht was not only the heaviest, but also the largest piece of marine cargo for this one-of-a-kind shipment, followed by the 200-ton heavy Damen stan pontoon,” a SAL spokesperson said.
A subsidiary of German shipping group Harren, SAL Heavy Lift operates a fleet of 16 heavy-lift vessels with combined crane capacities up to 2,000 tonnes. The firm is a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts network.
