Breakbulk carrier Smart International Service has delivered an industrial drum and accessories from China to Thailand.
The outsized unit weighed 75 tonnes and was moved from Sichuan, China, by road via Boten, Laos. The drum was loaded on a custom lowbed trailer for the 1,000-kilometer trip through mountainous conditions.
“All trailers were transferred to Thai trucks to move cargo at the Boten, Laos, border due to a customs clearance permit that only allowed Thai trucks to provide transport between Laos and Thailand,” a spokesperson for SIS said.
Registered in Thailand, SIS is specializes in import, export and in-transit customs clearance project cargo handling. The firm is a member of the WCA Projects breakbulk association.
