Shearwater, Invicta to Manage New Venture
Heavy-lift shipping firms Spliethoff and BigLift have announced expanded commercial representation in the UK with the foundation of Spliethoff-BigLift UK.
The new venture will be managed by Jon Gliddon of Shearwater Shipping & Chartering and Andrew Saunders of Invicta Shipping & Chartering.
“The formation of Spliethoff-BigLift UK comes at an opportune moment to commence a new commercial venture in the UK,” the firm’s said in a joint statement.
BigLift Shipping is a member of Amsterdam-headquartered Spliethoff Group. The group operates a fleet of about 50 modern, Dutch flagged, 1A ice-classed, multipurpose vessels, ranging from 12,000 to 23,000 deadweight tonnes.
