(Africa) Hottest, Lowest and Most Remote Place on Earth
Cargo handler Steder Group has delivered a cargo of outsized transformers from the Port of Djibouti to Dallol, Ethiopia.
The cargo included two transformers weighing 99 tonnes each and one weighing 56 tonnes. The project required transport under extreme time pressure over challenging road conditions.
“Dallol is located in the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia, the lowest humanitarian place on Earth [which] has the official record of having the highest average temperature in the world,” a spokesperson for Steder noted.
Steder is country member of the Worldwide Project Consortium, or WWPC, for Djibouti and The Netherlands. WWPC is an exhibitor at Breakbulk events.
