Swire Projects Deploys New MPV for Trans-Atlantic Move

Pacific Hero is First of Three H-Class Vessels Scheduled to Enter Service

Swire Projects, the heavy-lift shipping division of Swire Shipping, has deployed for the first time its new chartered H-Class multipurpose vessel, Pacific Hero.

The 28,500-dwt ship with a lifting capacity of up to 150 tonnes is the first in a series of three H-Class vessels scheduled to begin service with the Singapore-based carrier. Pacific Hero will be joined by Pacific Honour and Pacific Humility on a long-term charter deal unveiled last year.

For the ship’s inaugural journey, Swire Projects teamed up with Germany-based logistics specialists Tradelink Bremen and KSP Transport Ratingen in a trans-Atlantic move to deliver a batch of brewery tanks and equipment comprising 119 packages of some 28,900 cubic metres from Rotterdam to Guaymas in northwest Mexico.

“We are thrilled to finally have our H-Class vessels join the Swire Projects fleet and begin their work,” said Namir Khanbabi, general manager of Swire Projects. “These vessels are a testament to our long-term business commitment to provide the highest level of service and efficiency to our clients. We look forward to seeing all three H-Class vessels in action and delivering cargo safely and on time.”

Swire Projects, which operates a fleet of MPVs, was established in October 2020 to provide specialist shipping services to the energy, renewable and infrastructure sector. In late-2021, a deal was signed with Nordic Project and Finance for the long-term charter of four 12,700 dwt vessels and two 19,600 dwt vessels, built between 2007 and 2011.

Parent company Swire Shipping will be an exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe 2023, taking place at the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre on 6-8 June. Click here to reserve your tickets.
