19,600 DWT Pacific Integrity Selected to Transport Boat from Namibia to UAE
Swire Projects has teamed up with global yacht logistics provider Peters & May to transport a 275-ton fast support and intervention boat from Walvis Bay, Namibia to Sharjah, UAE.
The heavy-lift specialist’s 19,600-deadweight-ton Pacific Integrity multipurpose vessel, equipped with a pair of 240-ton-capacity cranes, was deployed to transport the 53-meter-long YC Bora, while Peter & May provided detailed planning and a specially built cradle for handling the unit.
Namir Khanbabi, general manager of Swire Projects, said the cargo’s substantial size and weight called for “careful planning and execution” during loading operations.
“To ensure the cargo’s stability during transit, a custom transport solution comprising of tailored lifting, cradling and lashing techniques was implemented,” the executive said. “The success is a testament to our team’s expertise and dedication to consistently deliver specialized transport solutions with efficiency and precision anywhere in the world.”
Robert Blades, global commercial sales manager at Peters & May, said the successful move was testament to the “strong collaboration” between the two companies.
“Leveraging Swire Projects’ exceptional heavy-lift capabilities allowed us to meet our client’s requirements with precision and care. We look forward to continuing our partnership and achieving more milestones together.”
