Houston-based Executive to Oversee all Project Logistics Operations
Torge Runge has been named senior operations manager of Gebrüder Weiss’ Industrial Projects & Energy Transport Solutions – North America division, overseeing all project cargo operations and related activities.
Runge, who will report to the division’s director Michael Ruediger, boasts more than 25 years’ experience in project logistics, and has enjoyed managerial stints with companies including Kuehne+Nagel, Conceptum Logistics USA, and deugro.
Based in Houston, both Runge and Ruediger are subject matter experts in vessel, barge and aircraft chartering, complex inland transportation requirements, and site work, the company said.
“We are thrilled to have Torge join the project team,” said Mark McCullough, CEO of Gebrüder Weiss North America. “The caliber of his leadership abilities and operational expertise is second to none, and his vast experience will further enhance the tailor-made logistics solutions and project execution capabilities we provide to our clients.”
Gebrüder Weiss' Houston office, which is dedicated to specialized projects and project transportation, is one of 180 company-owned worldwide locations. The logistics specialist announced last June the opening of a new location in Laredo, Texas – the largest inland port in North America.
Gebrüder Weiss is a regular exhibitor at Breakbulk events.
The next event in the calendar is Breakbulk Middle East 2024, taking place on 12-13 February at the Dubai World Trade Center in the UAE. Reserve your tickets to the region’s premier event for breakbulk and project cargo.
