UHL, Ocean7 Extend Middle East Presence

Cargo specialists United Heavy Lift and Ocean7 Projects have appointed a joint agent in Dubai, enhancing their presence in the Middle East region.

The agent will act under the United Ocean 7 brand and will be represented by Anup Antony from a new office in Dubai.

“UHL has had a wish to extend our presence in the Middle East/India for some time, and after Anup Antony became available, on the back of the Zeamarine closure, we started discussions in order to be able to land this agreement,” said Christian Monsted, managing director of United Heavy Lift's Denmark office.


Personal Relations

The joint office will focus on chartering and is expected to expand the firms’ heavy, project and breakbulk cargo services across the region.

"The Middle East region is important to Ocean7 and the Dubai office with an experienced capacity as Mr. Anup Antony follows nicely Ocean7's strategy of strengthening the personal relations to our business partners regionally,” said Jesper Henriksen, Managing Partner of Ocean7.

Ocean7 is headquartered in Kolding, Denmark, with branch offices in Hamburg, Genova and Bilbao and further booking agents in France, UK, U.S., Dubai and Singapore. German firm UHL, based in Hamburg, operates a fleet ofhHeavy-lift vessels, deck carriers and semi-submersibles.


Subsea Scoops Aker Contract

Fellow offshore cargo specialist Subsea 7 has secured a contract for development of the the Hod field in the North Sea on behalf of operator Aker BP.

The firm will deliver engineering, procurement, construction and installation work for pipelines, umbilicals and tie-ins as well as connecting a new wellhead platform, to be transported by Kvaerner.

Subsea 7 said engineering work will commence from its offices in Stavanger with pipeline fabrication carried out at the company’s spoolbase in Vigra, Norway. The contract is reported to be valued at up to US$150 million.
