Vallourec Wins 2-Year Contract Extension With ADNOC

French Firm Also Secures New Order for the Supply of 27,000 Tons of Tubing

Vallourec has been awarded a two-year extension by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on a US$900 million contract inked between the two companies in 2019.

The new deal, effective from January 2025 to January 2027, will see the French steel pipe maker continue to supply ADNOC with a full range of tubes and connections for its onshore and offshore oil and gas operations.

The contract has been adjusted to incorporate a new range of services. These include local pipe coating and digital solutions such as Tallyvision, which streamlines installation operations by providing full traceability for each tube. A 100% digitally managed operational storage area – built after Vallourec won the original contract – will continue to be deployed to support its operations.

As part of the extension, Vallourec has secured an order for the supply of an additional 27,000 tons of tubing, which will be manufactured at the company’s production facilities in France, Brazil, China and Indonesia. Deliveries are slated to begin at the end of 2024.

“The extension of our contract shows our customer’s trust and the added value they have received from this integrated tubes and services offering we have provided for the past four years as a reference supplier,” said Philippe Guillemot, CEO of Vallourec. “Under this extension, we are further expanding our range of services. Our customer has also recognized the value and quality of this enhanced offering with its significant new order. I am proud of the high level of our operations in Abu Dhabi and the unfailing commitment of our teams to our long-standing partner.”

Vallourec recently announced it had joined Dii Desert Energy, a Dubai-based global networking organization dedicated to energy in the desert regions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

As a result of its membership, the French firm has become part of the MENA Hydrogen Alliance, a collaborative network set up to develop green hydrogen projects across the region.

Vallourec is a member of the Breakbulk Global Shipper Network, a worldwide network of companies and executives involved in the engineering, manufacturing and production of project cargo. The next in-person meet-up for BGSN members will be at Breakbulk Americas 2024 on 15-17 October in Houston.
