Wallenius Wilhelmsen Invests In Syngin Technology
Cargo carrier Wallenius Wilhelmsen has invested in automated logistics services developer Syngin Technology.
The deal will see Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions take a 70-percent stake in the firm that has developed a virtual marketplace matching stakeholders with transportation providers and repair centers.
“The future of logistics lies in combining digital services, physical assets and a deep understanding of logistics flows. With Syngin we boost our digital capabilities, setting us up to better support the changes we see in our customers’ needs for the future,” said Craig Jasienski, CEO of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen group provides global ocean cargo services via a fleet of more than 50 roll-on, roll-off vessels. The firm’s WWO subsidiary recently completed transport of an Airbus AS350 helicopter to Southampton in the UK from Brunswick, Georgia, on behalf of Helicopters International Shipping Services.
