Logistics firm W.I.S. has delivered a shipment of nickel steel plates from Saudi Arabia to the Tengiz Oilfield in Kazakhstan.

The cargo measured 7,000 cubic meters in total and was first shipped from the port of Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Derince in Turkey. From there the plates were moved by river vessel for onward delivery to Aktau, Kazakhstan.

“The first three shipments, consisting of approximately 1,700 cubic meters, have now been handled. The second set of shipments, of approximately 3,800 cubic meters, is expected in Derince at the end of August and the final instalment will be shipped just before the closure of the Volgo-Don Canals in November,” W.I.S. spokesperson Matteo Travan said.

W.I.S. is a member of the Project Cargo Network, a breakbulk association, representing ISO 9001 and 14001 certified project cargo and heavy-lift specialists worldwide.
