Wood, KBR to Deliver Crux FEED

Offshore engineering contractors Wood Group and KBR are to deliver front-end engineering design services for Shell Australia's Crux project, located about 600 kilometers north of Broome in offshore Western Australia.

The project will involve construction of a platform and gas export pipeline and will require significant breakbulk transport including delivery of topsides, jacket, export pipeline and subsea pipeline end manifold.

Joint Delivery

Services for the project will be delivered jointly by Wood and KBR's engineering and project management teams in Perth over the next 18 months, with support from Wood Group's Kuala Lumpur resource base.

The facility will be operated as a not normally manned (NNM) platform by Shell Australia with SGH Energy and Osaka Gas as joint venture participants.

 

Wood Targets Australian Growth

Once complete the Crux facilities will be an important source of backfill gas supply to the Shell-operated Prelude floating liquefied natural gas facility and Wood Group aims to build on this work to strengthen its capacity in the country.
